SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of optimizing the keywords on-page and off, to target carefully selected keywords and move your webpage up the ranks.

Google ranks pages, not websites, meaning each page should be SEOd, also videos, images, social media, and more can be SEOd too.

Search Engine Marketing (SEM), for clarification, combines paid channels, like Adwords, which we are a Google Certified Professional.

We have been doing SEO for over 5 years, since 2012. Our biggest success early on was getting ranked #2 for a keyword with 500,000 searches/m, which generated $15,000 in sales/m. We’ve been offering SEO services to clients since then. Here’s what some of them have nicely said about us.

Our SEO Process

To do this, we go through a thorough analysis and optimization process:

  1. Keyword Research and Ranking Analysis to determine which juicy keywords to target based on:
    1. Search volume: to determine which keywords have both the search volume and value to be worth targeting
    2. Search Impressions: sometimes keywords have hidden search volume in Google’s Keyword Planner that can show up in Impression reports in Google’s Search Console.
    3. Current ranks: to see if there are any keywords close to driving a lot more traffic, then we can bump it up the ranks
    4. Keyword ranking difficulty: to see how difficult a keyword would be to rank based on competitor’s backlinks
    5. Keyword Selection and Prioritization: Determine which keywords to go after first to generate the results the quickest, then the next batch, and so on.
  2. Domain Analysis for Strategic Planning:
    1. Domain Age: a younger domain is going to need more strong backlinks built to it than an older domain
    2. Domain Authority: a measure of other authoritative websites linking to it, provided by Moz
    3. Trust Flow: a measure of trustworthy websites linking to it, provided by Majestic
    4. UR Rating: a measure of URL rating, provided by Ahrefs
  3. On-site Analysis and Optimization includes a review of the website and each inner page, in relation to the target keywords, identify the gaps, and optimize each for best practices, in terms of meta data like:
    1. Title tags: 70 characters or less, eliminate useless terms like “Home” or “Brand Name”, focus on keywords like products or services that people are searching for
    2. Meta Description: 160 characters or less, keywords woven in, not keyword-stuffed, easy for people to read.
    3. Header tags: Considered more important keywords than those throughout the page, because they define sections of content
    4. Image alt tags: Describes in text what the images represent, can use keywords here
    5. Menu links: Keyword-optimized links to inner pages of the website
    6. In-page links: within content or widgets that point to other pages or posts with the website, can have keywords as anchor text
    7. 301 redirect and 404 error page links: determine if any links need to be rerouted to maintain SEO and visitors.
    8. Schema markup: Identify and implement opportunities to stand out in Google, like with stars
    9. Content: Keywords should be in appropriate places, around 1-2% of the content (1 out of 50-100 words) and diversified.
    10. Page Speed: A check of both desktop and mobile speeds, provided by Google Insights. Tells us whether images are optimized for size and compression, resources are minified and cacheable. It’s an SEO signal, as well as improves the user experience to provide a fast loading website.
    11. Mobile Checker: Checks whether a website is mobile friendly, and therefore can show up in Google’s mobile search results. It checks the navigation size for touch, readability on smaller screens, layout, etc.
    12. Sitemap and robots.txt: We check whether this is set up correctly for the Googlebot to be able to crawl your website.
  4. Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO): while checking out the website, we notice whether any improvements can be made to make better use of the traffic coming to the site to generate more leads, and track them better.
    1. Information presentation: is it quick and easy to discern what the website is about? what products or services are provided and info about them? Is the content and design appealing or detracting?
    2. Contact info: is it easy to find a phone number or contact form to contact the company?
    3. Reviews: are reviews glowing and easy to find?
    4. Trust signals: logos or badges of trusted companies like BBB, Accreditors, etc.
  5. Off-page Analysis:
    1. Backlinks quality: a check of UR Rating (often low)
    2. Anchor text: a check of the keywords used to link to your web page and diversity (not just target keywords, but also related keywords, brand keywords, naked URLs, and random keywords, to avoid Google’s over-optimization penalties)
    3. Competitor analysis: to see what kinds of backlinks they are getting and from where to outrank your site, and how we can get them or similar ones for your site too.
  6. Build backlinks: After everything else is optimized, we build the appropriate corresponding links based on the prior analysis to ensure domain strength, backlink diversity, anchor text, and search signals:
    1. Backlinks: for organic and local SEO, these are links on trustworthy 3rd-party sites that point “back” to your site.
    2. Citations: for local SEO only, these are directories like yp.com, yelp.com, infopages, and hundreds of others, to build and ensure consistency of your Business’ NAP: Name, Address, Phone, and Website URL. More of these, means higher local rankings, in addition to reviews and proper Google My Business optimization.
    3. Social media profiles: if already created, ensure the website URL is there and the keywords are optimized.
    4. Guest blogs: outreach to bloggers and influencers within your niche, to offer to write content for their site in exchange for a backlink to your site. We provide the outreach, writing, SEO, and proper link set up.
    5. Product reviews: reviews of your product with a link to the product’s page.
    6. Sponsored posts: Paid posts to feature your product or service.
    7. Resource page outreach: To get a link as a resource to your business or some useful information on your site
    8. PBN (Private Blog Network) posts: privately owned high-authority domains for SEO and link building.
    9. Web 2.0: blogs created on public blog sites for SEO.
    10. Press Releases: written, SEOd and distributed to tens or hundreds of sources.
    11. Social signals: Likes, Favorites, Shares, Retweets, social bookmarks, etc.
    12. Embedded videos: Videos embedded on other blogs, like a backlink to a video plus can generate views.
    13. Geo-tagged images: GPS data included in the EXIF data of an image and posted either in your business profiles and/or photo sharing sites.
  7. Content Creation can be an effective method to target long-tail keywords (lower competition/search volume keywords) and generate more visitors to your site.
    1. Blog Posts: Our write can take keywords and instructions to create an SEOd blog post of 500 or more words.
    2. Pages: We may identify pages that can be added to your site to further detail products or services you provide, parts of your process, FAQs, etc.

    4. Videos: created and SEOd on-page and off-page.
    5. Images and Infographics: designed for impact and sharing
